The reason you haven't seen anyone here use it may be because they're after a free ride and look at how expensive vB is. As long as you have a legal copy of it there will be no problem using it. I don't see why phpbb3, mybb or similar boards would cause a problem with a project like that. If...

Whilst in theory it COULD be a good idea, it will be hard to break existing communities and get them to join your forum with everything on and un-do all their hard work. It will be a thankless task and a huge one which I think big developers would have a team handling all the work. Good luck...

It's easy enough to implement. Not sure if it can do the last point though "And is there a way to have all the users online, be shown on the forum for all the users on all the forums, instead of just one?" It does take time and effort but the rewards would be huge.

Why are you questioning if there will be a bump up? It's not exactly high on their priority list with what they are doing behind the scenes at the moment. When they are ready it will be done. :)
