The "&" doesn't bother me, I just notice it and prefer to use "and." I'm not sure there'll be much of a point against regular English. I was really wanting to debate with people about it.

I notice a lot of people asking for help in the introduction forum. Wouldn't it be more effective if they were to post in free hosting support forum? I think a mod should make a sticky. Does anyone agree?

Linux is actually very stable. I do agree, more people who use Linux do use it just to mess around with, with that being said, it is a solid operating system. A normal computer user could use it, given the immense documentation.

Hosting companies don't typically update this as soon as it comes out. Many Web pages will become broken because some code may not be compatible with the latest version of Apache.

You could always look for things licensed under Creative Commons. http://creativecommons.org :D

Why don't you just install it and mess around with it for a while? You can't mess anything up ;). Also, Google is your best friend :).
