I like the design. The only problem that I've noticed is that the header is too wide, it overlaps the rest of the design on the right. I'm using Firefox 3. EDIT: You may want to change the favicon. It's still the default Joomla one.

Try installing SMF by using Fantastico in cPanel. It'll set everything up for you.

If this is for MySQL (which I think it is looking at that error), then you should change the host to 'localhost' in the settings. Also have you set-up a MySQL database and MySQL user in cPanel?

Telnet is sort of like an older and less secure version of SSH. There are very few things which still use it, but as Smith6612 said some routers and modems support it (Mainly the older ones). If you want to see a working telnet site, telnet to towel.blinkenlights.nl

You can either use cPanel as the above post explains or you can use .htaccess. To use .htaccess place this in your .htaccess file: ErrorDocument 404 /error/404.html #Where /error/404.html is the path to you error document.
