    i didnt like the menu too much, but the xfce version menu is better... for me the only reason to use mint over ubuntu is it already has flash installed (and maybe video codecs) which is useful from the live cd if you like to use live cd's.

    linux's "mini" distros

    If you stay in the 50mb range, DSL is about the only good one. But you can try slitaz ~25mb DSL/Knoppix based. Or go a little bigger with Puppy ~90mb range. or go better with SLAX ~194mb, so it wont fit on a 3.5"CD :( that's my picks for SMALL distros. ubuntu for full distro.

    up'ed to 8.10 had a problem with NVIDIA drivers. found new drivers http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=1826678&postcount=1 BUT did not display some borders and dialog boxes correctly. i'm considering reinstalling 8.04

    Well my Windows OS boots as drive F:, drive C: does not exist in my configuration (by choice). Wubi/Ubuntu was installed to my drive G:, then upon uninstall, F: would not boot but was EASILY remedied.
