    Linux-???

I played Neverwinter Nights too. Linux provides security, stability, and the ability to customize to your heart's content. Currently using Fedora 9. Used OpenSUSE before that, to be honest, I really haven't chosen. I like them both. I set aside a partition for a highly...

Have you used any Unix OS?

    1. What is the best distro you have used? Fedora (v10 out November 25 BTW) 2. What is the worst distro you have used? Can't say. 3. What is the most challenging distro to learn? Can't say. 4. What is the most user friendly distro you have used? Fedora and OpenSUSE. Ubuntu simplifies things...

    The orange box?

I didn't like TF2. Thought it was a spam fest, and after a week it got old. The Orange Box is worth getting though. You get HL2 and Episodes 1 and 2 (there's a third episode in the works). This is a great single player game. Yes its old, but you don't really notice it. Graphics and the engine...

Which Operating System do you prefer?

Windows7 = Vista Vista was released way too early. Technically, Vista was never suppose to happen. I have used Vista for over a year (driver issues prevented a fully working XP). Got so tired of it I went to Linux, and never looked back. I do have a Vista partition because I am a gamer, and...

Which windows do you like most?

Re: Which window you like most? Yeah, hate the Windows OS. Linux is so much better. But if I had to choose, it would be XP. XP was okay enough to last as long as it did. XP would've lasted longer if M$ kept to their new business model... Instead we get a new OS that runs slower and less...

    What would you rather have

Price should never affect the choosing a gaming system IMO.

    What would you rather have

Played the 360 for an entire week... got sick of the thing. PS3. Better games/system for the hardcore gamer. Plus, all the extra features are nice and Sony's support for the console, I didn't mind the price too much. Paid full price for the PS2 and they are still pushing out games for it.

    Search Engine

I tried that, and the results are the pages that the link is on. If they want "Trips," the visitor can simply click "Trips" in the navigation and get the same page. I would like to have the file(s) as the result, not just the page its on.

    FrontPage 2002?

Well for one, it is outdated. Next version in the FrontPage line is 2003, but the latest from M$ is now called Expression Web. DreamWeaver is pretty good, but has a long learning curve. While I normally don't like M$ products (most are mediocre at best), Expression Web's WYSIWYG portion is said...

    Virtual OS on Flash Drive?!

BackTrack has a bunch of Wireless security tools. I think that would be counted as wasted space if he isn't looking for those kind of apps on a flash drive. I will also suggest Linux (its small, lightweight, feature rich, highly customizable being open source, etc.)...

    Search Engine

Can't seem to find what I'm looking for... Say I have hundreds of files on my site available to visitors. Currently, most of these are categorized in general on pages (html) and are usually just descriptive links (not the full URL on the page). Like: site.bleh/directoryB/Louisiana08.rar Would...

    Hash? Or something similar..,

Thanks again Scoochi. And thanks for the reply mattura. Didn't want to store anything, but it seems to be the only way. :pat: Closed. (I dont see a checkbox to close the thread, sorry.)

    What is the Best AntiVirus?

Kaspersky is great. If you are concerned about performance, NOD32 seems to be the way to go, but Kaspersky is a close second. I've heard good things about Avira Antivir but never actually tried it. Hated the free ones...

How The PS3 Can Beat The Competition This Holiday Season

I proudly supported the "Keep M$ away from my gaming future" fund by buying two PS3s. The MSG4 bundles and replaced the harddrives. :thefinger

    Hash? Or something similar..,

Well I guess compress would have been a better choice of word. It's not for security, but looking for an alternate method to database. But the replies did help since I have something similar planned, thanks. 8) For this, users will be filling out a lengthy form, and it will be turned into a...

    Hash? Or something similar..,

Maybe I'm looking for something entirely different... I want to take a long alphanumeric string, toss it into something like MD5 and have it spit out 32 characters (more or less). However, I want to be able to convert it back to the original... Is this possible?

    Hard Drive full

You can get hard drives really cheap these days. My advice (if the above suggestions do not free enough space), would be to get a new hard drive. If you do not have room in your desktop/laptop for it, you can get an external one.

    Image Hosting

I would like to use something similar to the server status sig people use around here... Basically, PHP modifying an image stored on my x10 account to be used on a few forums. Not a service available to the public, just me. Now I remember reading something about image hosting, and was...
