You got that the wrong way round DNS converts the IP into the domain name. DNS isn't the only thing you need for domains. You also need A, B and CNAME records - IP address, Name servers (not "domain" name servers) a proxy server (optional) and specific ports

What installer did you use? If i were you i would install WAMP or XAMPP And also You say you were using phpinfo(), Are you echoing it? Because if you didnt have PHP installed it would be prompting you for a download. Try echo phpinfo()
