It will last many years without power, and with computers using ATX power supplies, even longer as the battery is only used when there's a power outage. Old batteries sometimes die when the computer is left disconnected for 1-2 weeks That happens when the battery was manufactured many years ago.
websites with heavy Flash content, video decoding, audio encoding, Photoshop and other picture and video edit software, low-latency audio recording, leaving processing power to other tasks(only when the app doesn't take all the available threads though, dual-cores with multi-threaded apps suck...
My ISP's DNS is as fast if not faster than OpenDNS, but it's not upgraded as often. I got dead links with my ISP's DNS server a few times that worked properly with OpenDNS. The opposite was true as well.
Also, OpenDNS's search suggestion full-of-ads page gets annoying when you reach a dead...
It's probably a timezone problem. Even if the battery is dead, the computer will keep the clock working using standby power until it's unplugged.
Windows resets to atomic time at the timezone you have set while installing when it's restarted.
And you would have received a key even when using Linux, OS X, etc. Windows 7 "Release Candidate" is just free to anyone. It will get locked once Windows 7 is released.
cPanel and my website both work very well, I haven't received any downtime notices from host-tracker since the change was done. (Previously, the downtime was over 50%, litteraly)
It looks like the free subdomains aren't working well though. My parked domain works perfectly, but my subdomain has...
I often use a Mac and I don't see any reason to consider it superior to Windows or Linux with a good UI, except for the unix shell which isn't present on Windows (but Linux is even better for that).
I found it's just an OS like any other, but have faced many quirks with it though:

Firefox 3.5 isn't that slow, and with all the available add-ons, is probably the most functional. It probably has the best compatibility with websites, as it's optimized to render pages written for MSIE properly, and can render pages that comply to coding standards properly as well.
IMO Safari...
W7 is almost bug-free for everyday use.
Uh, yeah, but XP, 95, 98 , 2K, 3.1, Vista, OS X, OS 9, Linux, etc. all have bugs. What OS are you running then?
Netgear = overpriced, buggy, unsupported hardware.
I've been using beta 1 since the public release, and, IMO, it's almost as stable as a retail version.
A few non-compatible apps (the kind that installs low-level drivers) do crash, but that's to expect when the programs are not updated. One major problem I found is that the task manager isn't...
The direct download link on Neowin works from any browser.
I've downloaded it during the night and installed it this morning, but I haven't had the time to test anything as I'm not home right now. All I can say is that it doesn't recognize my 3C905 NIC, but apparently Vista has the same problem...
This was a Mozilla Suite feature back then, but I just looked in Firefox 3's options and you can now do it again. Still missing the HTML sidebar however...
