    Windows VS. Mac

Im sticking with Windows, I love the choice of software and games. As well as this, you get the upgradability. You can really upgrade an iMac, and buying upgrades from Apple costs way too much. I think a 2GB RAM upgrade cost £300 with Apple, when the RAM costs about £65. Alex

What do you like about Linux?

I like the fact thats its free :D . Im also planning to get it on my new laptop, since it requires pretty low specs to run. Alex

4 GB RAM Necessary / Is this RAM compatible?

I have 4GB, and I use most of it when I export video/ high res images from Photoshop. Its useful if your using the Adobe programs, especially many at a time. But as alreaddy stated, you need 64-bit to fully use 4GB. The Dell probably has 800Mhz RAM, but its not running at 800MHz. My system...

    Graphics cards! 9600, 8800, 6600 oh my!

If you want to work out how much power you need, you can go to: http://www.extreme.outervision.com/index.jsp Enter your system spec, the card you want, and it will give you an estimate as to how many watts you need. Its only an estimate though, Id go about 150W higher than its suggested...

Is your site using too much resources or is their server just too slow?

Its free, how can you complain? If you want 99.9% uptime, low server loads, get the paid service. You cant expect a web host, who has to pay about $250/month to host your website FOR FREE not to squeeze as many people onto each server as they can. Thats why the server loads are high...

    Email problems

Are you sure its a problem with Outlook Express and not the email provider? Before he reinstalls outlook express I would recommend trying the settings on another computer (if possible) and see if you can send/receive from that one. If you cant send/receive from the other computer, then contact...

Issue in IE 8 Beta 1

I have to disagree here. I quite like IE8, better then IE7. I tried Firefox 3, downloaded yesterday, and it lacks some things that Ive gotten used to in IE, which Id find hard to live without now. Like, for example, not being able to open exes, instead you have to save them and delete them when...

    Facebook is beating MySpace worldwide

Well thats true for me, I have a Facebook account and a Bebo account, no Facebook. I always found facebook to be too 'messy'. The fact that everyone could have an entirely different theme meant every single page was different. Bebo is much the same, just a little better. Facebook has the...

    Tech blogs/review sites/generally tech/gadgets!

Hi I have a website - www.component-warehouse.co.uk . I could do with some more links from websites, so Im looking for about 4 or so tech related websites to do a link exchange with. Your link will join the rest at the bottom of every page. Few things: Blogs I like as they look to be...

    Your Opinion on Mini Laptops?

It also, IMO, defeats the point of an ultra small laptop. I wouldnt feel happy taking something that cost me over £1,000 out and about. With one those Eee PCs or MSI Wind's, you could take it pretty much anywhere, and if you dropped it, got water in it or whatever, its not a huge loss, as a...

    How much do you...

Well I spose I ought to comment here... Dont make much of current (like $20/month), but hopefully it will take off soon. When the blog takes off I will make some more from that as well. Alex

    Paid or Free Hosting

Development package rocks! Theres no downtime, and the support is great, and the price is little more then free. I mean, at less then $2/month how can you resist it? You get much better support and uptime, along with the other features. Alex

Is Wireless n worth the extra cash?

Thanks for all the info - much apprechiated. The reason I thought about going for n is my new laptop does have N built in so... One other question, if I have say 2 wireless n devices on the network, and 1 wireless g, will the network speed by n or g? Or will the speed be 300Mbps to the n and...
