I went directly to Windows Update in IE and had the download and installation of SP3 completed. After a long reboot, SP3 is installed. No glitches of any sort, but doesn't feel any faster. I haven't put it on my machine personally since I hear that SP3 messes with the uxtheme.dll if it's patched

By the way, I recommend that you get an 8-Series nVidia card since they are going to bring Ageia physics via CUDA for those cards through a software capability (i.e. you won't have to buy a physics card, and your graphics card will be even more powerful)

I doubt Vista will ever beat XP as Microsoft is projected to release Windows 7 in 2010 (but knowing Bill Gates, that projected date is probably 5 years early). Vista is a hog when it comes to memory and performance; no matter how high end your computer is, XP will always run better than Vista...
