I got this problem after Vista crashed while updating. Although, in my case, explorer loaded, just not the desktop. Task Manager sorted it out temp, but when I updated it again, it was fixed.

Well all your internet traffic will go through your router, which evidently has a web interface. Now I'm no expert at networking, but I think you will need to set up some sort of port forwarding to tell the router that you want incoming traffic on port x to be forwarded to the local network IP...

I agree. I have four at the moment, I think, and thats a pain to do, especially with hotmail and ymails lack of IMAP or proper POP3 support, especially in hotmails case. As to the domains, it doesnt really matter. Just pick whichever ones available.
