    Your views on the supernatural

personally, i don't believe in anything supernatural. so far to date, no one has ever provided any objective, empirical evidence for the supernatural that has withstood scientific scrutiny. all we have is anecdotal evidence and subjective experiences - both of which are known to be extremely...

    Do you believe in God?

there's a slight flaw in that - who says it was created? is it not reasonable to think it formed?

    Do you believe in God?

agreed. though we have disagreeing sides each challenging the viewpoints of the other (essentially what debate is) this has managed to remain the most civil religious debate i have ever been in - no ad hominem, no threats of hellfire, etc.

    Do you believe in God?

testimony is neither objective nor empirical. regarding your hypothetical situation - even if all my senses told me it was there, and a clearly remember it with a sane, rational mind - i wouldn't eventually have to admit i was probably wrong since there was no evidence for it. this video will...

    Do you believe in God?

honestly, i would give serious consideration to any objective, empirical evidence not relying on logical fallacies for the existance of any god. so far, in all my years alive, no one has been able to provide any.

    Do you believe in God?

no, the common sense approach based on the genesis account is that the light for day is the light of the sun - the actual distinguishing factor between day and night. claiming it is the light of god is nothing more than apologetics to explain away an inconsistancy. no, the one and only time the...

    Do you believe in God?

science cannot, and therefore does not, make any comment regarding the supernatural. let's test this idea. i flew to chicago today. not in an aircraft of any sort, i just flew like superman. this is true and thus i don't need to prove it. sounds pretty absurd if you ask me if someone came to me...

    Do you believe in God?

no point in the bible ever claims the light of the first day is light given off by god. if it did, then you would have to accept that he only gives off light about half the time. the claim that the light spoken of in genesis prior to the sun is god is nothing more than an excuse imagined up by...

    Do you believe in God?

but that line of faith isn't even supported by the biblical account, it's nothing more than a speculation of an apologist. on the other note, christianity believes in 4 gods - Yahweh (also written as YHWH, Jehova, and others), Jesus, the Holy Spirit (who is otherwise unnamed), and Satan (who is...

    Do you believe in God?

and thus enters into the conversation the second of the 4 christian gods. the bible speaks of this first day, and there be light called day and dark called night. if this light is, as you claim, the holy spirit, then you are claiming he only provides light at certain times (day) but not at...

    Do you believe in God?

thus the objective evidence and bible disagree. this isn't a good case for the bible. and here begin the logical fallacies. argument ad hoc. any evidence to support this claim that god exists and gives off light - but only at certain times? Firmament from the Vulgate firmamentum, which is...

    Do you believe in God?

for starters, i notice you pick one of the 4 christian gods to believe in (ie. Yahweh), which begs the question - out of all the thousands of gods people have believed in, why would you pick that particular one? anyways, regarding genesis 1:1-31... (i'm going to condense it a bit as i go...

    The Ultimate Goal of Life

that's not quite how it works - proteins are chains of amino acids - not the other way around. amino acids have been shown to naturally form under many different conditions. all the materials needed for life form under natural conditions beside a fallacy of personal incredulity, this is a...

Re: Do you believe in God? nylonase is an example of it happening with beneficial results. it stared with a gene duplication, and then a frame shift - resulting in a new enzyme that could take advantage of a new material in it's environment (nylon). perhaps i should have worded it better, but...

    The Ultimate Goal of Life

Re: Do you believe in God? this is what is known as the watchmaker argument and is completely fellacious. first, the processor isn't alive. secondly, it doesn't reproduce. thirdly, it is not subject to mutation. fourthly, it is not subject to natural selection. evolution is one of the best...

    Do you believe in God?

no. i have never seen any evidence for any god ever. being the skeptical person that i am, i employ the null hypothesis to any positive claim i'm exposed to - if the evidence shows the null is wrong, then i adjust my view accordingly. on the issue of god, so far it hasn't.
