some of the free severs are constantly going up and down. This especially effects the load times of any sql servers. Not to mention the server load on some of these free servers are pretty high.

It seems to be fluctuating between between online and offline.

perhaps since the servers are still moving your database has yet to be fully transfered.

I highly doubt this would happen here in the USA. People are not as motivated as they were in the 1800's to go fight a war to become a separate country. And like many said before this won't happen with out a civil war.

tucows is also good I have used them for many domains.

A little off topic but actually ddosing a ded. server is only hard if the datacenter have effective security in place to stop such things. If not then ddosing works just as well as it would on a laptop.

I really like SMF, phpbb doesn't really do what I want plus the SMF community is a lot more helpful then the phpbb community.

It is to be expected, that problems will occur when changing servers. Its never a smooth process. Also the Staff at x10 isn't as large as the amount of clients it has which is thousands compared to a handful of Administrators that can solve server issues. Plus no one forces you to use this...
