    How fast is your internet?

Not sure how many of you have heard, but Comcast is placing a 250 GB bandwidth cap on their users starting in October I believe. Sure 250 GB doesn't sound bad right now to most of you, but once more high quality media hits the internet, they're going to have to either charge more for the cap or...

    Graphing Calculators

TI-83 is simple and good enough for most cases. If you're in college and you have a laptop, you can get a TI emulator and ROM (VirtualTI) I personally have a TI-89 only because I got it at a good price. It's completely different from the TI-83 and takes some time getting used to as it has a...

    Digital photo frames

Do any of us like the existing photo frames? Will making them digital make any difference? I could care less, just seems like one more useless item to fill a household

    Anyone watch Big Brother?

All reality shows lack reality. It's why I never started watching them since I have my own reality to put up with. That said, I still can't believe shows like these are still on the air. Surely there's something better to do with TV broadcasts

Top 10 movies one must watch

The Godfather anyone? The Good The Bad and The Ugly? The Boondock Saints? Pretty much anything in the IMDB 250 is worth watching

    Who likes Frontpage?

Started off with Notepad, ended with Notepad. One of my webmastering teachers wanted a website built in Frontpage one time since we had to have WYSIWYG experience. I ended up pasting the Notepad coding into Frontpage, made it look messy on purpose, and voila I was done. Not a fan of WYSIWYG...

Your view on Georgia Vs. Russia conflict

Did you read past the first paragraph? "On the other hand, there have been some allegations that Putin secretly owns a large fortune. According to former Chairman of the Russian State Duma Ivan Rybkin[264][265], and Russian political scientist Stanislav Belkovsky[266][267], Putin controls a...

    Team Fortress 2 Free Weekend!

Yeah they revamped DOD:S and made it look more cartoony as well. Not as cartoony as TF2 but it's a start. I've uninstalled my Steam games since I'm running out of space, and I barely play them. I'm probably going to sell off a Steam account eventually

Your view on Georgia Vs. Russia conflict

From what I understand, the majority of people in South Ossetia ARE Russian, hence they had Russian passports, etc. Georgia started it, and I believe that Russia is doing whatever is in its best interest. Taking out infrastructure may seem a little extreme, but when it comes to war/land grab...

    wallpapers for 1440 x 900 resolution

You're going to lose quality by scaling it to that resolution regardless. If you really want that wallpaper, contact the person who made it and ask for more resolutions. What you could do is keep it as its current size, but have Windows fill in black around all the edges (it will look boxed in)

    flash drives

Not a fan of flash.. limited write cycles. On the other hand, I have a 320 GB external and a 160 GB external (Seagate)

Paying for modules is obsolete. How many people do you know pay for add-ons for Internet Explorer? Pfft guaranteed marketing failure

    The Mojave Experiment

I could run Vista on my 2.33 GHz C2D 4 MB L2, 512 MB 8800GT and 2 GB of RAM easily. The reason I don't is because statistically on comparable machines, Vista is slower in the all the various functions that XP performs...

    windows 7

After the botched release of Vista, I don't know if Microsoft will ever churn out another decent product. Although Windows 7 is modular, there are rumors going around that this may become subscription based, i.e. pay $10 a month for the media player addon, etc. If that does happen, open source...

    free t-shirt?

Well the www.dealcatcher.com forums have a "Free Stuff" thread. Sometimes they have free t-shirts (I've gotten a few myself), but primarily it's a lot of household goods and samples

    The Mojave Experiment

Once someone goes and finds out the hardware Microsoft used to run those Vista computers, Vista will be discredited once again. Some of the responses don't seem genuine, and they are all soundbytes of the positive points (as you never get to hear the full conversation)

I figure the chicken, but this simple thread won't ever "settle this once and for all"

    iPhone 3G Hot or Not

It is hyped, but it also is quite useful as a smart phone. However I too think it is too expensive, as you have to pay for the phone as well as an expensive data plan. I'm sticking with T-mobile service and a simple free flip phone as I have no need to stay connected to the internet 24/7
