Even with my high end system, I chose XP over Vista. Switching for DX10 and an ugly bloated interface is a downgrade. Hopefully Vista users will get a free option to upgrade to modular Windows 7 when it comes out (assuming that it won't suck like Vista)

Regardless of how well Vista would run on a high end computer, XP would run even better on that system with the exact same setup! Yes the bloatware is here to stay, but this doesn't mean you can't stop by any university computer store and pick up OEM copies of XP. Or you could switch to Linux

Games for Mac is nearly oxymoronic, but I'm sure if you went to google and searched 'popular free games for Mac' you would get some results. Linking sites for downloading paid games are against the forum's TOS

COD4, Halo 3, Bioshock, Gears of War for existing titles. For games that will be released eventually: GTA IV and Gears of War 2. Oh I also hear that Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is pretty good as well
