It was already enabled before on mine. An issue was identified on x11. A fix was attempted, but did not succeed. A case was opened with DirectAdmin to further investigate the matter.

VPNs / Corporate Networks are not allowed. It will need to be accessed via your actual machine. That RDP server itself is likely not on a residential ISP network.
Are you still showing it with that err_ssl_protocol_error?

You are using an improper SSL certificate.
