Are you using localhost as your mysql host???

I suggest you to use x10hosting sub-domain as your main domain. e.g yourname.x10hosting.com and park your domain in cpanel by clicking on park domain option.. This will work faster with no problem.

In cpanel http://yoursever.x10hosting.com:2082 There is an option of addon domain. Just open it and add your registered domain. then go to domain registar and point your domain to x10 DNS ns1.x10hosting.com ns2.x10hosting.com

What error you got while removing this from addon domain??? Just remove this from add-on domain and add it in park domains. Then it will resolve to your root
