Anytime someone tries to post an outside link to an external site, i.e. youtube we get this error. This is on a SMF forum installed through Scriptaculous. Since we are a forum for streamers it is important that we can actually link out of the site.

HTML Header: 403 Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /index.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

According to the x10hosting page it can be one of three things:
  • Your files or directories may have incorrect permissions. You can manage permissions from within the cPanel File Manager or through FTP. All files should have permissions of 644, and directories should be 755.
  • Issue not related to permissions.
  • A rule in your .htaccess file might be denying your request.
  • Your request might be being blocked by mod_security because it looks suspicious. Please post on the forum.
The assumption is that it has to do with the mod_security and I am finding it hard to encourage my team to donate with this large error (3 - year plan). Help, please?

Mod_security2 is pretty strict on free hosting. Paid would be less strict when it comes to the sort of rule your site is triggering.
