404 error pages

Just out of curiousity how come 404 error pages aren't being controlled by x10. anymore?

Just a side note: I created a 404 page of my own and the shtml varibles like request url aren't being processed.
eg: <!--#echo var="REQUEST_URI" --> remains a comment

Is the error page a "shtml" page? Server side includes need to be on shtml pages. Check to make sure the extension is .shtml. (It could be another extension, if you added/changed an apache handler, or a mime type. Not sure which. Forget about this though. :ughdance
