404 error

I do not know what is going on with my site. All I did was remove word press. My site was just text after that. All my pictures everything were gone and all the text was completely out of order. I assumed all I had to do was use the backups but even those are not working and keep coming back that they are corrupt and Now I am getting
Not Found
The requested URL / was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

How did you make the backups, Via x10 cpanel or inside wordpress?

Everything was in CPanel as far as I know but now they will not even open.
