404 results in 404 (lol)

Here is the problem. When a file isn't found you usually come to an x10 page with some ads that saying the page isn't aviable or smthing. On my site it comes:

Not Found

The requested URL /ergfdg.php was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/2.2.6 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.6 OpenSSL/0.9.7a mod_mono/1.2.5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at jagf.net Port 80

And in the error log it shows this

[Mon Dec 10 15:15:23 2007] [error] [client *IP*] File does not exist: /home/viggeswe/public_html/404.shtml

It's from us recompiling and rebuilding apache last night. I'll get around to it soon ;)
