500 Internal Server Error

I'm getting a 500 Internal Server Error. Is this because of some server move? It seems that only the index.php showing the error.

Have you modified .htaccess file in web root?This issue can be caused by incorrect settings in .htaccess.

If you haven't touched it and didn't installed any CMS in web root, then touch it now and rename it and try reloading the site.If error still persists then post here, so admins can help you.

I renamed the .htaccess and reloaded the page but the error was still there. I haven't install any CMS recently.

In your cPanel, you will see an icon under the "Logs" header called "Error log". When you open it, what is the very top message in that textbox?

I went on the log and it said "index.php" is writeable by group" so I look at the permissions for index.php and they were at 777 I changed them to 644 and the problem is now gone. :wink:
