500 internal server error

Hello.
When is use my phpbb3 board some time it show a 500internal server error. I know its due to chmod problems. I request to set my all files permission to 644 and directories to 755. I am unable to do so using my ftp client.

Oops something wrong. Becoz i correct the permissions then also some time this error poping..!!

What is going on servers. Due to this error no one can register to my site. I dnt think it is a fault from my side or script error. Because i check permissions manually . All are correct
