A .com domain on Free Hosting AND some A record questions

Hi there,

I have a .com Domain registered @ GoDaddy. Is it possible to host a .com on x10's free service. I need to keep the name servers on GoDaddy and just use A records and CNAME records to use x10's hosting. Email (MX) records are not required as I am using Google Apps, but I just need to host a simple homepage for the site?

Correct, although some ISP's and DNS providers will have the update in seconds (OpenDNS seems to be that quick most of the time)

Yes DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours, but usually it completed in 20 or 30 mins

Also, will when I go to my site: domain.com will it forward to the x10 url. e.g. mysite.x10hosting.com or will it remain as domain.com in the address bar?

It will remain domain.com

But remember to add domain.com in cPanel. ----> Parked Domains

Ok so I have added the A record:

Host: @
Points To: 69.175.122.178
TTL: 1 Hour

and In the Parked Domains:
Domain Domain Root Redirects to
domain.com /public_html not redirected

When I go to domain.com, I just get taken to the x10 homepage. I am guessing that the "48 hour" DNS Propagation has finished as I am taken to x10. But why not to my website?

It's not working because you were given stoli's IP address because we thought that you were talking about the account associated with your forum name you posted with. Your other account is on cossacks. Point the IP address to 69.175.121.58

Also, TOS states that you are only allow ONE free hosting account.

The other account is NOT my own. It is someone else's which I am setting up for them. Thank you.
