Hi there, I was just setting up some POP3 accounts with my parked domain and noticed that after the account is created the manual configuration settings generated do not work, iv identified the problem as follows;

The username is incorrect, instead of an @ symbol a + sign is generated.

Mail Server Username: example+jayodesign.co.uk

Should be

Mail Server Username: example@jayodesign.co.uk

This may be a problem only associated with parked domains but it’s definitely an issue as many people will be using clients that do not support the automated configuration files.

Cheers for the hosting

You sure it's entered wrong? I'm on paid and that's what thunderbird uses as it's username and it works just fine?

Might be one of those "varies depending on client" things.

Well, I was using the manual settings generated and no joy with them, so I decided to open up one of the registry files provided and the login is different.

Im on Outlook 2007 ( ino but I lyk it :drool:, haha )

Tried a @ instead of + an away I was......

It may be because im using my own domain, who knows, but it got me stuck for about 20 minutes ha,ha

I'm using a different domain (not a blah.x10hosting.com subdomain) too, my guess is it's some client-specific thing. Thunderbird might just be interpreting my + as an @ anyways too.

Thats probable, I just tested the settings with another client and got the same outcome, plus the automatic config files it gives have @'s not +'s, so thers a problem in the script thats throwing out +'s for the browser to show.

just think it mite cause problems for some people is all
