Hello,

I'm not sure this is the appropriate forum to ask this apologies if not.

I have set up a database on my x10hosting account and populated it using a datadump from the same database on my own computer. Unfortunately I have found that on the X10Server the pound-sterling (£) symbol is automatically altered to a question mark (?).

I'm not sure why this happens as I've specified the same character set for both my local and x10hosting databases. It's important that I resolve this issue as the particular field that is affected is used in a comparison and so will always show unequal when compared to data containing the '£' symbol.

Any help appreciated

It is happening on one specific table (propertyupdates) in my database 'web_rm'. The odd thing is that there is a second table in that same database called 'properties' which also has a field which contains the '£' sign and I had no problem importing data into that table, the '£' sign appears fine.

I wrote a simple php script to replace the '?' with '£' but now the '£' appears and no matter what I try I cannot get rid of the 'Â'.

Very puzzling !
