for some reason, in IE (but not in Firefox), when I sometimes use niftycorners, which is a way to get rounded corners without images, the table covers up my text

for example, go here: http://www.alexthegood.com/main/preview.html

right below "Welcome", there should be a paragraph of text, but something covers it up. When you highlight that area, the text shows.

NOW, when you go to a similar replica of the above link, here: http://alexthegood.com/main/index.html
everything works fine, it seems as if the lightbox messing things up?

It looks just fine in IE7. If you only get that problem in IE6, you shouldn't be really that much conserned about it as more and more people are switching to IE7 or FF.
In any case I don't have IE6, so unfortunately can't help you out with fixing that problem.
