Hi
I have been trying to connect to my database so I can update my records from my computer. Is this allowed with the free account.

I'm trying to connect with phprunner to build the database.

Access from hosts outside of the x10 servers is disabled for all the free servers and is not likely to be enabled any time soon. All MySQL tasks need to be done within PHPMyAdmin in your cPanel account.

Also, you'll want to edit your post and remove your password then change your password through the account panel.

OK I thought that was the reason.



I now can not connect to mysql on the server using .php would I need to change my .htaccess file? the file is pre written phprunner.php, I know you do not support third party software. But this is a general question regarding php and .htaccess.

If so what do I put in the file?

And would I have to put a copy in the folder where the file is stored as well?

.htaccess has nothing to do with the use of MySQL. Try reading this article and this one too and follow what they suggest.
