Hi,

This thread is basically a follow-up to this one. I've created a new thread because what I posted in that thread is better off in this subforum.

Anyways, I'll quote my post:
One more thing though; I can also access the database through my own computer's MySql administration tool. Is it ok if I use that? Because elsewhere on the forum I read that Corey must open up the firewall, but it is already working for me.
So basically:
I can access the x10 MySql database from my own computer with the MySql Administrator tool. I'm not sure if this is supposed to, and if not then I'd be risking a punishment. This tool is much more easy to use than phpmyadmin, so I'd rather use that one. Am I allowed to use it?

I have one more question:
I have created a C# application (Oblivion Savegame Manager) that accesses a database on the internet to store some savegame information. I'm currently using a db4free database, because it allows remote connections and therefore my application can send data to it. My x10 website (francoisvdv.x10hosting.com/oblivionplayerdb/index.php) accesses this database so it can show it's data on a website.

I've tested the application connection with my x10 database instead of db4free, and that worked too! Much, much faster and more stable in my opinion.

Am I allowed to use my x10 db for this? My app is not supposed to handle dozens of connections. I'll create an advertisement link in my app to x10hosting, and I'll try to implement the ad script too.

Thanks,
Francois

Edit: My CPanel UserName is 'fvdven'.

Sorry, but we don't allow remote MySQL connections. If you are found with too many you'll get suspended.
