Hi,

My account has been suspended stating "Account compromised and is the source of malicious activity". Has my website suffered any attack? :( The worst is that I have no way to tell, since I can't access my files not even by FTP, much less check the database or the live website. It would be good if the suspension message indicated what the finding was.

I have appealed for an unsuspension. Does anyone know how long will it take to process? My website is currently offline, and if it is going to take long I should migrate to another server (but having lost all the data in the database since the last backup).

The finding will be given to you separately (usually as a reply to the appeal/dispute process). A compromised account needs to be suspended to halt malicious activity; the contents of public_html are generally quarantined in another directory. It's only after you've indicated that you've been alerted to the problem that the account can be unsuspended, at which point you'll be able to fix the problem (upgrading your site's scripts, replacing compromised files, changing your password, and so forth). As you posted this, it is O:MG it's early on a weekend morning, so the volunteer staff may be a while getting back to you. (And do try to keep in mind that there isn't a small army of paid support staff for Free Hosting; if there were, it couldn't be free.)

Thanks for the information! I'll give it some time and see the outcome.

I am quite happy so far with the service provided by x10hosting (and if the traffic of my website were to go higher I would move to the paid hosting).

Yup, I replied to the dispute not too long ago; I'll close out the thread since the rest will get handled through the appeal system. With it being a compromise though it's not permanent, just to make sure that's clear :)
