Account linking question?

I can log in but when i go to the account pannel i am asked for my cpannel user name, this part i know everyone has to do, but it will not exept my cpannel username i am wondering if it is something other tan i remember. it has been a wile since i have had to remember the account. can some one tell me what it is or why its not working.
