Account System?

Can I use a MySQL for an account system? I'm looking to create one for users of my website.

You can use it for whatever you want as long as it's for your website. Remote access to the database is disabled (ie. you cannot access it without going through your website)

Is there anyone who can help me with setting up an account system. I've never attempted something that complex.
