Adding Ads for HTML

My site uses html, with just a smidgen of javascript. I looked on the thread on adding and there wasn't anything related to just html. The javascript code given doesn't do anything by itself.

When I look at my cPanel it says I am required to have a text link, but I'm not finding the requirements of where the text link should go, nor if there is a size requirement.

So far I have it on the index only, will update all the rest as soon as I find out proper placement. I've placed it at the bottom with the credits for the template.
