upload via FTP

open my network places and click add network place, click next x2 then type your website url but with "ftp://" eg ftp://jason.x10hosting.com/ then click next now un-tick log on anonymously and type your cpanel login name. next click next and name it whatever you like, then next and finish.

open the folder you call with the world in it and type your cpanel password. now click the www folder and all you do now is copy and paste your website there.

Or, login to your cPanel, http://BermudaCruises.x10Hosting.com:2082
Click on File Manager
and upload them there, remember to delete the original index.html file before uploading a new one to ensure it goes through. If there are alot of files, zip them up, upload the zip file and within filemanager you can unzip (decompress) them.

Ok, Im really a rookie at this stuff. I clicked on File Manager, but Im not sure what to do next, you may have to guide me through it. It says, "Please select a directory to open," and there are 4 options.

Well, once your'e in your public_html folder, upload the ZIP file by pressing upload to the place where you want the site to me (in this case, public_html). After, when you click on the ZIP file once and then click on extract at the top, this may be where your problem is. Make sure it is extracting to public_html, and then press OK. You won't need to save it in any other directory, as the extraction should build all of your folders for you if the ZIP file contains that data. After that, you should be all set.

Im completely frustrated. I think I uploaded it, but I have no idea now. Here's what I did exactly:

Clicked on File manager, and then went to web root. Once I was there, I pushed the upload button. Then another screen opened and I browsed my C:/ drive and found my file to upload and I uploaded it. No I think its in my public folder, but it says its a text file. and when I right click and try to view it, its just text. From here, How do I publish it? Please be a detailed as possible. Thanks guys and sorry for the hastle.

OK, if it's saying it's a text file, is the file extension correct at the end? ".zip" should be there (without the quotes) for it to be read right. Check that. Also, the puclic_html filer should show your file if you reload the page, or if you close out the file manager and re-open it.

Otherwise, there's always FTP if you are having trouble. FTP through windows is as easy as drag and drop.

Edit:
Ok, if and when I get my file uploaded, how then would I publish it to the web?

OK. Well, the thing about ZIP files is that it's supposed to compress the file. Make sure that whatever utility you used saved it as a zip, you keep the .zip file extension on the file, and that your files were added to the ZIP file.

Also, once the file's uploaded to the public_html folder, it's all set. It's that easy.
