ads and dns status

sorry to keep bothering but I have two more questions.

1) if I signed up for ad free hosting I dont have to put ads anywhere on the site, correct?

2) I see the DNS server is down. is this a frequent issue or did I just sign up on a bad dns day?

1) Correct.
2) DNS is managed by a different server so it doesn't matter if it's down.
