Affiliate Programs

I would like to start up an affiliate program on my web site but I dont know where to start. I know there are many expensive programs out there that you can purchase and there are many free ones. My problem is I dont know what is good or even how to install them. If anyone could give me a hand it would be greatly appreciated. The following link is for a free one I was looking at.

Affiliate schemes provide all the code necessary, the trick is getting in to the schemes.
TradeDoubler is probably the most well known in the UK and possibly other territories. (http://www.tradedoubler.com)

Make individual agreements with web sites. Find them by surfing and looking at the affiliate page. They provide the code. Try to find the ones that pay with paypal.
