Any estimate when I can use FTP?

Tried to upload a new site today and my ftp request keeps getting refused... I checked this forum and sure enough there seems to be others have trouble today...

So... first is this a know problem... and second is there some estimate when to expect the service to available again

my id is bobgalka on fris....

You are on fris try changing your cPanel password..

FTP on Fris is currently not running and hasn't been for a few hours now at least. If you have some critical files to upload, go through 'File Manager' in cPanel.

Edit: FTP isn't just denying authentication details, as would be remedied by changing password, the actual daemon is not currently running, meaning it is not possible to open connections.

Thanks lemon-tree.. that is exactly what I did... zipped up my files first... used filemanager to upload and extract... worked fine...
that will get me going for now....
