anybody else having trouble with mail?

Hi all, i was using google SMTP for email but for some reason that has stopped working and i cannot get it going again, however i would like to use php mail but i keep getting the following error

[I]/forums/cron.php[/I]

My server is Starka, and i am using PHPBB and only want mail for user confirmation on registration to help stop spam not mass email. Is this just a issue i'm having or others too as i dont want to bug the support team if it is a known issue.

Hello.
I have an email problem with starka, that could be related.
SMTP server is not running (or, at least, the SMTP, SMTPs and SMTPs SSL ports are not accesible from outside the server).
