I have Crysis and love it! 3xGTX280s in SLi = pwnage at full settings :). I'm sad that Crytek canned the rest of the patches for the game though.

I'll be joining it shortly as soon as I get off of my laptop. Don't worry :).

EDIT: I saw your edit. Yes, Crysis has multiplayer problems. The servers seem choaked and even when I have 22ms ping, I'll get lag spikes from MP games. Also, I blocked PunkBuster installs on my PC, so that narrows my options.

I have an ATI 4870 x2, just one though.

Also, can you help me configure my Crysis Wars server? Help me get it setup and all? When I need a player to get the game started to get more people?

I will be hosting a Crysis server on a Q6600 Intel

I can do full settings too at 1080P

Why do you think Crysis is the best game ever? Other than the graphics I really found it to be lacking in the game play.

Surely not a bad game I just never would put it as the best game ever (that goes to Chrono Trigger ;) ) .

wtf is chrono trigger? 1980's console game?

stop kidding yourself.

you're just stuck in the 80's

have you even ever played Crysis?

It wasn't game of the year by itself... people voted for it.
Of course you wouldn't like this type of game since you're still stuck on 1980's RPG Console based games....

obviously you haven't since you don't even know how robust the controls are in the game.

and why do you think alot of companies are licensing from Cryengine 2?

And you're talking about a game that is old as my SONY Triton Tube TV.

And if you don't like Crysis, you shouldn't even be posting in this forum, cause that is what this posts call for! Don't hate, appreciate!

I can tell by your lack of knowledge of the game that you really don't know much about games in general. I'm not going to say your opinion is less valid, I'm just pointing out that there are hundreds of better games out there.

stop kidding yourself. It wasn't game of the year for nothing...

Stop being so defensive. Crysis sure did win some Game of The Year awards so more power to it. Game of the Year awards are wonderful but at the end of the day they still are opinions.

have you even ever played Crysis?

Yeah, in fact I have. It was quite a dissapointment compared to FarCry which still is one of the better games on the PC.

obviously you haven't since you don't even know how robust the controls are in the game.

What does that even have to do with anything? I never had an issue with the controls. Pointing and clicking things are not hard for me.

and why do you think alot of companies are licensing from Cryengine 2?

Because it's easier to make games for an already built game engine then starting from the ground up.

And you're talking about a game that is old as my SONY Triton Tube TV.

Let me get this right. You believe that if something is old then it must be bad.

Now, stop with the insults because if I saw you making remarks like that to a member you would have recieved an infraction. It was never my intention for you to take offense nor was I trying for it.

You stated that it was the greatest game ever, I asked for why you thought that because I had a difference of opinion.

So once again, why do you think it's the best game ever?

And if you don't like Crysis, you shouldn't even be posting in this forum, cause that is what this posts call for! Don't hate, appreciate!

I don't believe that's the case. In fact I do like Crysis, you're just being way to defensive.

I could help set one up though, but don't expect to see me in Warhead very much at all as I'm having issues with the game and it's optimization, that plus I don't have PunkBuster installed. And the Q6600, check to see if you can multithread the server program. It'll help a bit especially with core utilization.

As for my settings, I'm doing 2530x1600 resolution on Crysis. That's greater than 1080p.

it would be useless explaining what is good about it too you, let's just end it as that. it wouldn't get through your thick skull. I don't want to be in the mix of your little skirmishes. My post is intended to call upon people with like minded interests, if you don't agree to anything in this post, maybe it's not for you, you're free to go elsewhere if you want to stir up trouble.

a 30" computer monitor of course! Those are really the only monitors you can get that will run at that high of a resolution without cramming in the pixels into a smaller screen. Do they even have screens smaller than that, that support 2530x1600?

And I couldn't agree on PB any more. Sure, Valve Anti-Cheat I'll take. I use it all the time. PunkBuster, that won't even install on my system as I've managed to block it.

My thick skull? It was a valid question. I'm not stirring up trouble. You're making pretty bold statements is all. I wanted to see why you think it's the best game ever from your perspective because I wanted to hear you out, not to argue. I wanted a reason to pick it up and play it again.

You obviously took it the wrong way.

That's pretty cool. My 24" only supports 1920x1200. I bet it looks beastly on that.

It does. The only problem with a resolution that high though, is that especially on older games, textures look blown out or all distorted, and especially with the newer games, unless you have a very powerful system that will run the resolution as well as full settings with Antialiasing (I HATE JAGGIES!!! >:3), it's going to be very painful to play with low frames per second or with distorted picture. Take Halo 1. On my smaller, older CRT monitors the game looks pretty good. On my 30" LCD screen, I can't even get Halo 1 to run at the max resolution so the game looks blown out. Seems to cap itself at 1440x??? (nVidia Driver does, before used to run at the max res but Halo kept bugging up).

What kind of performance do you get on it at that high of resolution or do you have to tone down the graphics a lot to run it at that high?

Or does your video card have a built in scaler?

Some games have a certain max resolution I believe, especially older ones like Halo.

Only exception to the rule probably would be Quake 3.

With my setup, I get very good performance with the settings maxed. Crysis does choke in a couple spots, but since I'm using 16xQ CSAA (nVidia's way of using 16x MSAA but with tons less bandwidth usage), my framerate is obviously going to be low much of the time. Sits around 25-29fps average with everything maxed. Other games like TF2 and COD4, they run flawlessly. I'm sure I can get more boost out of my system with a bit of overclocking and tweaks to my cooling, but it's good none the less.

As for a scaler, yes. All decent video cards now a days, even those old crappy Intel Media Accellerator onboards have those. I can make the game run in a small screen and a black window, but what good does that do since all I'm doing is wasting power having my screen show black. I'd honestly rather face the blown out/distorted display at non-native resolutions than use the nVidia scaler. I do get used to them after a while anyways.

ok, since your not out to cause drama, i will reconsider...

As I've mentioned before... that many company licensed the engine due to it's top notch graphics....

And the game play i think is excellent... not much different from FarCry.

Graphics is top notch...

The way you play Single Player is awesome.

It has real physics...

the game is well balanced....

The engine doesn't make you nauseated like Cod4....

movement is precise
and robust...

online play.....

there's more... it's a cross hybrid to similators with the vehiculars like chopper.

has good FFA and PowerStruggle Mode.

I think gameplay is better than FarCry , although I also think FC is good too.

They both have similar traits... how can you say FC is better when they are both similar and the engine is older...you got things mixed up son.

What you're saying is you rather have a 1980 Corolla over a 2008 Corolla.

Just like if Far Cry would to be 1980 Corolla and Crysis is the COrolla 2008...

anyway, I think it's just a waste of time talking to you cause all your out to do is cause drama....

I don't care if you rather pick an old Corolla over a new one, thats totally up to you. Just keep my thread within topics and don't try to change the subject by going into a diferent game like "Chrono Trigger" pfff wtf is that crap? it's time to buy some new hardware buddy and enjoy the graphics as how it's suppose to be. Maybe thats why you don't like it, who know...

i can run it at that res too but it crams up the res and has a black border around it. even when it's running on my 47" Inches LCD TV Monitor

I think the reason for that is, that your HDTV has a 16:9 ratio with safe zone in it. The resolution I run at itself is 16:10 ratio with no safe zone in it. Just a guess though.
