I am getting the "Apache is functioning normally" error page for both my web pages: http://www.cqfamilyhistory.org.au and http://www.chriswright.id.au

I am using Cloudflare, and if I try https://www.cqfamilyhistory.org.au it tells me Error 521 that the web server is down.

I can log into Web Control Panel ok.

Any help greatly appreciated.
There's two issues here.

The first is that neither of those two domains are present in your account, they need to be added to the account to actually work. I didn't see them as added to the server at all in fact.

The other part is that your x10host.com domain had failed to properly update with correct IP in the DNS settings in the migrations, I have corrected that part.

If you had those two domains in the account before the migrations it may be a sign that something didn't work right with the initial migrations.

In that case I can restore the account from the backup taken just before the old servers were taken down. This would in that case mean that I wipe the current DirectAdmin account, so if you have made changes after the migrations that you do want to keep I'd advice to back those up properly.

Thanks for your response Anna.

I'm not sure what you mean about "the domains...not present in...account" as the domains have been working for years with the information on my x10, although they working differently for each one.
  • chriswright.id.au has always just gone straight to my x10
  • cqfamilyhistory.org.au should be pointing to a google webpage, but it links to a store and a database (it was these 2 items not working which first alerted me to things not working) (so, I am thinking I made a mistake with changing the ip addresses here now I think about it)
All I changed was the ip addresses at my domain supplier from the old ones to the new ones, after the migration (I assume as this was only a few days ago). That was when the domains stopped working.

Thanks, I haven't made any changes to data on the x10 since February.

If the domain needs to resolve to our server, the domain must be present as a domain when you login to DirectAdmin, either under domain setup or under domain pointers. The domains are not in either place.

It should never have been possible to connect to our database from an external source, so the fact it was working from a google page is kind of odd, unless you mean the database is used by the store here on our servers.

From what I can conclude, the domains likely points to our server, but with no record on the server on what account it belongs to it gives the apache default page. What IP have you pointed them to?

If cqfamilyhistory.org.au should resolve to a google page, then you would probably need to point it to google and not us.

The domains probably worked up until the old servers was taken down bit over two weeks ago.

Thanks Anna.

I have never really understood fully what I need to have where for this to work. I managed to muddle through and it definitely has been working for years, yes, until a bit over 2 weeks ago.

I have restored the ip addresses for cqfamilyhistory to what they were (which I now guess is google). Yes, the database of the store is on x10. So, for this domain, 'until I changed' the ip address, the page still worked, it was just the store and the 'other' database which weren't working.

For chriswright.id.au I changed the A-record to 198.91.81.12 as I thought I was now on Server12.

So, do I need to go into Domain Management and add chriswright.id.au as a domain there?

Thanks for being patient with me, I know it's like talking to a child... :)

Yes, you need to go into directadmin and add the domain there. You are indeed on x12 so that IP is correct.

Is the pages of the store also on x10? If not, what settings do you have in the configuration for the store? Note that if the actual pages for the store is on google page it may not be possible to connect to the database server of x10, but it would have changed with the migrations in any case.

Thanks Anna.

Ok...I'll add chriswright.id.au as a domain.

The store is Zencart installed on x10 with just a link from the Google page to it.

Cheers!

Thanks Anna! Now, at least, chriswright.id.au is working. Some changes are required, but that is no issue.

Thanks Anna! My sites are working as intended now. I really appreciate your guidance and assistance!
