Hi,

I recently setup an email to use with my domain being hosted by x10. All is well except whenever I use an apostrophe it converts it to a question mark after being sent as if it’s an unrecognised character.
I’ve connected the account to my gmail so I can use it there for reference. Is this an issue with the mail server or have I done something wrong here?

Cheers,

Callum

personally i have never yet heard of such an issue.
but then ive tried to connected the account to my gmail.

i suggest checking out x10hostings Terms of Service
and their Acceptable Use Policy as i may be wrong
but i think what your doing is not allowed in the 1st place.
its better to make sure your not violating the terms.

ive never heard of a need to connect a x10hosting account
to gmail.

I’m not sure I see how this could be against the TOS.

I’ve connected it to my gmail in the same way you would connect an account to outlook via POP3.
Essentially I’m just using gmail as the client to access that email account.

Essentially I’m just using gmail as the client to access that email account.

its possible gmail dont recognize the e-mail format sent from
your x10hosting account.

You can test this:
create a test email account on x10hosting,
(so you have 2 x10 email accts.)
send yourself an email from your test email,
then read the email in x10hostings email client.
(do not read it in gmail)
does it show the same problem or does it show normal ?

that is just a crude testing method,
to see if it shows the same way in your x10hosting account
or if the problem is still the same.

there might be other things, but thats what id try 1st.

Thinking about it now, that would have been the obvious thing to try.. and of course you’re right, the problem lies with gmail!
Kicking myself a bit for not trying that beforehand haha
Thanks so much for you help :D
