I am wondering if x10hosting can support ASP pages for free? Or do you have to pay for that ability?

No. x10Hosting does not support ASP (classic ASB/VBscript) at all.
x10Premium (and, of course, VPS, which will let you set the server up however you want) supports ASP.NET through Mono, which is not the same as Windows Server + IIS + .NET Framework -- it only supports a limited subset (and, according to Corey's response in this thread, ASP.NET support may be dropped on all Linux hosting due to continuing problems with Mono).
