Back up database - phpMyAdmin error

To back up my wordpress database I need to log into phpMyAdmin yes?
But when I click on Extra Features and phpMyAdmin, I get the following error:

Cannot execute your request
phpMyAdmin is missing direct_login_option. Please reinstall phpMyAdmin.

How do I back up my database?

It seems MySQL servers are down for many people right now

My problem is fixed and was my fault. It was my browser not allowing the pop up to load.
