I just recently signed up for free hosting, and decided to get a phpbb forum going. Now I had hosting from another provider but it is no longer so I looked for another, and found this site.

So I tried doing the basic setup stuff, and i have encoutered serveral problems. 1st, Ftp uploading, thru my ftp software is very ,very slow, but hosting is free, so I deal with it. 2nd is the trouble with the C-panel taking for ever to load, if at all. This is very annoying when your trying to set up. 3rd was the problem with the accessed denied problem with the user for my database. I am the near the point of looking for another hosting service.

I decide to log onto the forums 1st and see if there is any news on these problems. What i discover is others having the same problems I am. So what I was wondering.... Is it the service that's terrible or is my timing unfortunate? I had heard good things about X10 so i hope it can be resolved whatever it is.

Good service, bad timing!

See this post ; http://forums.x10hosting.com/news-announcements/98132-update.html

There are some great improvements to an already great service going on at the moment, but it is taking a while for those transfers that Corey mentions to be carried out (lots of account data).

Stick around, normal service will be resumed shortly!

Yes, as zener said, these problems you're encountering is because of some major maintenance that Corey is doing on the servers.
That is not normal, just wait a bit and you'll have a fast easy experience!
