I think I might have been banned by the your firewall. Would that be the problem because I can view my site through a proxy. I was doing a backup through ftp and I think I might have made too many connections. Is there any way to get this fixed? I don't even know if that's what the problem is but it seems like it.

Now it happened again. I lowered the max connections to 2. Is that still too much? I would download a backup from cPanel but it never works, it just downloads half of it and then quits.

You should disable "Multiple connections" totally from your FTP Client, if not you'll get temporary blocked by the firewall.
You should be able to access your account now, make sure you disable the multiple connections feature.
