I am in search of a good BBS software.
Yes, BBS - the ancient form of internet ( before the fun filled days of graphics and high speeds )

I use to own one ( MajorBBS - changed to Worldgroup ) but just can't bring myself to spend hundreds of dollars for it. I was interested in Synchronet - but seems their website is down or something. ( Too bad )

I know where to find a list of them, that isn't what I am asking for here. I am asking for assistance in picking a good one. Running either on Win Server 2003 or Fedora 8.

why cant you jus run phpbb3 and joomla. i dont see an issue with that

Because they don't run Fidonet, Door Games ( like LoRD, etc ) and because I like the old BBS systems. Being a former SysOp.

Ah. Thanks. :) I found Synchro was back up and running ( http://www.synchro.net/ ) if anyone is interested in knowing what I am after. ( Which, with them being up now - may just use them )
