Alright, there are tons of free resources on the internet. Everyone here probably knows of at least one or two. Let's try and get some of them here in one place. I'm talking about any digital goods, remember, keep it clean, and forum rules apply. No pirated goods, only freeware. Link to the main website if possible and not some alternative download. Let's see what we get.
It can be free software, or online apps, a good database website, or just something that you really like.

Ok, I'll start off with one of my favorites: http://freeclassicaudiobooks.com/ (free classic audio books)

and another one: http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page (free e-books)

Ok.. I think everything depends on what you're interest for... for instance If you like everything that has to do with desktop enhancement... you can visit http://stardock.com/... Maybe you know that already, but I think is a good place to find freeware like the object dock and make your desktop a little more attractive... If you're into the photoshop world.. you may like http://www.jnxcs.com/ you can find everything about photoshop there.. I think http://www.cnet.com/ is another good source of freeware.

I'm afraid most of the software I use comes from relatively *ahem* "questionable" sources.

I do know some good software if your into using DMX controlled lighting equipment through your computer:
* Freestyler (works with most interfaces and fixtures. Comes with visualisation software) http://freestylerdmx.be/
* Chamsys MagicQ (has PC wings to extend functionality and almost identical to consoles) http://www.chamsys.co.uk/default.asp?p=start.asp

Hmmm, looks interesting, but I don't do any of that stuff. Do you? Or any one else here?

any suggestions for a superior freeware html/source/wysiwyg editor/designer.

i've tested a few, i use komposer, but some things don't work the way i prefer.

please don't just search google, then post results.
please instead offer something that's really good and usable.

Ok, here's what I've been using for html editing quite a while and I really like it, it's a little bit like kompozer, but much better in several ways: http://www.seamonkey-project.org/

I use PSPad (http://www.pspad.com/) quite a bit for quickly editing most types of code... it doesn't take up too many system resources and has an array of different built-in functions.
