Auto backups was removed some time ago, I'm not sure why. The easiest way is to select everything you want backed up (probably you just need to select the public_html folder) and click the compress button in CPanel file manager. It will zip the files into one .zip or .zip.bz2 and you can download one smaller file to your own computer.

To back up databases, you need to go to phpmyadmin or pgmyadmin, whichever you use, and export the database to a .zip file and download it. The default options for saving are OK, just change the save information at the bottom of the page to your liking.

i actally know how to make a regular backup!
the problem is how to make it better and faster, and about that .zip compression.... the reason i want to make a backup is because i wanna move to an other host .. i dont have enough of resources and dont wanna pay

i have allready found one, but every time i try to download my website files through ftp (filezilla) the connection brakes after a while.. and it takes endless of time to do a backup this way...

I can't think of a better way to do it. Maybe CPanel file manager will be better because CPanel seems to go down less than FTP, but there's not really a way to improve download speeds.
