Better FTP server uptime

First of all, I believe that x10hosting is a very good (probably the best) free web host on the Internet. However, during this time of the year, I wasn't able to connect to the FTP server much because of too many users connecting to it and HTTP issues. I believe that the FTP server should have a better capacity and more uptime because of this. Anybody agree?

...apparently, my site doesn't like me. Not only is the FTP server occupied, but the HTTP server is having a 500 error. And only 41,000 connections at once on the FTP server, which is supposed to be a part of a hosting system that has over 400,000 clients? PATHETIC!:frown:

Well we can chalk up one less account now:

Downloads are only allowed on your x10Hosting account if they have to do directly with your website. e.g. you developed custom software and are selling it or giving it away. Accounts may not be used for mirrors, game file hosting, or any other type of file hosting not specified here.

That's what we call an unprotected file uploader which turns your account into a file storage and file hosting service. You have been permanently suspended under the Zero Tolerance policy and cannot be unsuspended or provided access to your account for any reason.


Also I'm not 100% sure, but it appears the .htaccess you were utilizing may have had something to do with the 500 error. I'll forward that one on to higher ups for review.

In any case, the account got suspended because it's being used for file storage. And lots of it, from the looks of things.

The SWF files on the account were not for file storage. I understand that the account suspension is permanent, and I apologize for any bad that I have done.

By the way, I found Can't say it here., a free web host. This one has a policy which allows file hosting as long as it is used ONLY for the site:

File storage without a website. If you want to just upload files online use a file host such as RapidShare.com or MegaUpload.com. You are welcome to upload files providing you have a developed website. Using your account ONLY for file storage will result in termination.
