Black Mesa Source Trailer (Half-Life 1 remake mod with Source Engine)

The guys making this released a trailer a few days ago and boy does it raise the bar for mods. They've literally have been recreating the game from pretty much the ground up for the past 5 or so years. It honestly looks like it could be a retail game if the polish is as consistent as the trailer makes it out to be.

I found out about this too! I'm so excited along with the fact that this is coming with a new version of the source engine as well! It'd be a nice thing to mess with the SDKs and especially GMod with it once I play the game.

They have encouraged the modding community to make a remake of the original.

The site came up instantly here again, with some new features such as a blog and some music running in the background. Must've been updating the site when you tried it or something.

Ditto. Also, to celebrate Half-Life's 10th Anniversary/Birthday, Valve was selling Half-Life for 98 cents over Steam, their online content delivery service. I was going to buy it, except I already have it

Yeah, VALVe always has out done themselves with it, but remember this is being done by a mod team, not valve

Very impressive. The shooting graphics/recoil are reminiscent of Crysis (possibly just a combination of video FX and actual gameplay)
