blank homepage and 500 error on index.php GET request

It was working a moment ago. I looked in the database settings (only in cpanel, didn't open phpmyadmin) and didn't even change any. Went to reload the page and it stopped working with 500 error. Prior to that I was getting 500 error on all my php requests, but the site was functioning generally.

EDIT:

Now the site works but I get 500 error on every single AJAX request.
